PASKA BREAD
 

1 lg. yeast cake
1/2 c. warm water
2 tbsp. sugar

Mix above and let rise 10 minutes.

12 c. flour
3/4 c. butter, soften
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
6 eggs
1 qt. milk (scald)

Add 6 cups flour, milk and yeast. Mix and let raise for 8 minutes. Put in greased bowl. Mixture will be very runny. Add remaining flour, shortening, sugar, salt and eggs. Knead. Add flour if needed. Let raise for 2 hours. Pan and let stand in pans for 1 hour. Brush with eggs. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes.
