APPLE PIE
 

5 to 7 apples, pared & sliced thin
3/4 to 1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
Dash of salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. butter
1 (9 inch) pie crust with top crust

Mix sugar, flour, salt and spices. Toss with apples. Pour mixture into pie crust lined pie pan. Dot with butter. Place top crust over apples and seal edges. Cut several slits in top. Bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes until crust is golden brown. Cover edges with strips of foil after 15 to 20 minutes of baking to prevent excessive browning.
