APPLE - WALNUT COBBLER
 

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. coarse-chopped walnuts
4 c. thinly sliced pared tart apples
1 c. sifted enriched flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 well beaten egg
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/3 c. butter, melted

Mix 1/2 cup sugar, the cinnamon and 1/2 cup of the walnuts. Place apples in bottom of greased pie pan or casserole dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon mixture. Sift together dry ingredients. Combine egg, milk and butter; add dry ingredients, all at once, and mix until smooth. Pour over apples; sprinkle with remaining walnuts. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes or until done. Serve with cinnamon topped whipped cream or ice cream.
