GAYLE'S MINCE PIE AND TOPPING
 

1 (9 oz.) pkg. NoneSuch condensed mincemeat
2 tart apples (Granny Smith)
1/2 c. raisins (or more, if you like)
2 tbsp. tart jam or preserves (apricot or plum)
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/3 c. coconut
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 c. flour (not self-rising)
1/2 c. brown sugar

Follow package directions and add apple, raisins, and jam. Cook until apple is tender. Cool.

In small bowl, combine butter, coconut, pecans, flour and brown sugar until crumbly. Pour cooled mincemeat into unbaked 9-inch pie shell and press topping, covering top completely. Bake at 425 degrees for 1/2 hour or until crust is done. Serve with whipped cream. Simply delicious.
