CINNAMON PICKLES
 

Peel and seed cucumbers, slice long ways. For 2 gallon pickles, soak in 2 cups lime and 2 gallons water for 24 hours. Rinse and soak in ice water for 3 hours. Drain and simmer in next mixture for 2 hours: 2 oz. red food coloring 1 c. white vinegar Enough water to cover pickles

Drain and throw away mixture. Bring to boil: 2 c. water 10 c. sugar 8 sticks cinnamon 12 oz. red hots candy

Pour over pickles and let set for 24 hours. Drain off pickles and bring to boil. Pour back over pickles and let set 24 hours. Drain off pickles and bring to boil. Put pickles in jar, pour mixture over and seal.
