PASTA CARBONNARA
 

1 pkg. bacon or substitute pkg. boneless chicken
1 pkg. angel hair pasta (Contadina in dairy case) cook per directions
1 Alfredo sauce
1 pt. half and half
1/4 c. white wine (optional)
2 c. broccoli florets
1 carrot, julienned
1 sm. onion, cut in pieces
1 c. sauteed mushrooms
1/2 c. frozen peas
2 tsp. basil

Fry bacon and cut into small pieces (or boil chicken until tender). Put aside. Pour grease from skillet, leaving 2 tablespoons grease in skillet. Saute vegetables in grease, approximately 3 minutes or until tender crisp. Set vegetables aside. Mix Alfredo sauce with half and half, and wine in same skillet. Cook on low heat until warm and blended. Add basil. Add bacon (or chicken cut into small pieces) and vegetables and pasta. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until warm and serve.

Serves 4-6.
