OLD FASHIONED BOTTOM CRUST APPLE PIE
 

1 pastry circle
8 to 9 tart apples, peeled, cored, and cut into thin wedges
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground mace
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
2 to 3 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. butter
Powdered sugar
Whipped cream

Fit 1 pastry circle into the pie plate and chill for 20 minutes. In large bowl, combine apples, sugar, spices and flour. Pour mixture into chilled pastry. Dot with butter and fold pastry edges over apples. Bake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees until filling is bubbly and crust is golden. Cool slightly. Before serving, dust crust with powdered sugar. Serve with whipped cream.
