3 lbs. fresh spareribs (country style) 1 tbsp. butter 1 med. onion (chopped) 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 tbsp. vinegar 1 tbsp. lemon juice 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 tsp. Tabasco 1/2 c. water Place ribs in shallow pan and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roast in oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes. While the ribs are roasting combine remaining ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, spoon sauce over ribs; reduce oven to 350 degree and roast one hour more. Baste during last hour. Serve ribs with sauce remaining in roasting pan. Serves 4. |
