6 thick pork chops 1/4 c. water 6 tart apples, peel, core & slice 1" thick Salt to taste 1/4 c. sugar In a greased skillet brown pork chops on both sides. While chops are browning, prepare apples. Reserving pan juices, remove chops to a casserole which will accommodate chops in one layer. Sprinkle with salt. Add water to skillet, scraping sides and bottom; pour over chops. Arrange apples on top of chops; sprinkle with sugar. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour until chops are tender. Serves 6. |
