COACH FRANK HOWARD'S TEXAS HASH

3 tbsp. bacon drippings
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. black pepper
2 med. diced onions
1 can tomatoes
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 med. diced green peppers
1/2 c. white rice, uncooked
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. hot sauce

Place onions, bell peppers and ground beef in large skillet with drippings and saute. Use fork to break up meat. Cook until lightly browned; then add other ingredients and cook until rice is done and other ingredients are blended. Stir once during cooking, around 45 minutes.

If on diet - use corn oil instead of drippings and omit sugar.
