FINGER STEAKS

1 round steak, 1 1/2-2 lbs.
Salt and pepper to taste
Meat tenderizer (optional)
1 c. flour
1/3-1/2 c. fine saltine cracker crumbs
2 eggs, beaten
Shortening or vegetable oil

Cut round steak into finger-sized strips, season with salt and pepper and tenderizer. Combine flour and cracker crumbs. Dip strips in egg, then in flour mixture. Saute strips in shortening until brown on all sides. As strips are browned, place side by side on baking sheet. Cook in oven at 300 degrees for no longer than 1 hour, depending on doneness desired. Serve with barbeque or steak sauce.
