SPINACH ITALIANO
 

2 tsp. butter
1 lb. burger
1 med. onion, chopped
1 (2 oz.) can mushrooms (stems & pieces) (fresh mushrooms may be used)
2 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp. Accent, optional
2 pkg. (12 oz.) chopped spinach
1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
2 c. shredded Swiss cheese

Melt butter in skillet with lid. Brown burger and chopped onion. Drain grease. Add mushrooms, garlic, salt, basil and Accent. Boil spinach per directions on box. Drain well and add to meat mixture. Mix well. Make cream sauce by melting butter in medium saucepan. Remove from heat and sift in flour and salt. Stir in milk gradually. Return to heat and cook until sauce thickens, stirring constantly.

Add grated Swiss cheese to sauce mix (reserving a little to top dish) and add to meat mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes 5-6 servings.
