1 lb. Damson plums
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
Prick Damson plums with a roasting skewer or darning needle. Put sugar and water in large saucepan. Bring to boil and skim. Add plums, a few at a time to keep their shape while cooking.
Cook until soft. It is better to work with small quantities. Put into sterile jars, cover with syrup and seal.
