3 well beaten eggs 1 c. sugar 2: 1 1/2 c. sifted flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 lb. chocolate chips 2 c. pecans or walnuts, coarsely chopped 1 c. coarsely cut dates 1 c. halved candied cherries Mix list 2 well. Add sugar and egg mixture. Pour into oiled paper lined pans (1 long loaf pan or 2 small). Bake at 325 degrees 1 1/2 hours. Let cool overnight before cutting. This cake is a favorite of people who don't like traditional fruit cake. |
