OATMEAL-CRUST FRUIT PIE
 

1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. uncooked oats
2/3 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. melted shortening
2 1/2 c. sweetened fruit (sliced peaches, apples, apricots or rhubarb, diced; use fresh or cooked)

Combine dry ingredients; add melted shortening, mixing thoroughly. Pack all, but 1 cup of this mixture firmly in bottom and sides of a pie plate. Arrange sliced fruit on top. Cover with remaining crumb mixture. Bake in medium oven, 375 degrees, for 30 minutes or until brown. Serve hot or cold, plain or with cream. Serves 6.
