FRUIT TURNOVERS
 

6 c. sifted flour
2 c. shortening
2 tbsp. sugar
1 cake or pkg. of dry yeast dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. water
3 eggs, beaten
Pie fillers - cherry, blueberry, etc.

Combine flour and shortening in large bowl as for pastry. Add sugar, salt, water, beaten eggs and yeast. Mix dough. Cover and chill for 8 hours or overnight.

Roll out dough a tablespoon at a time on a sugar covered board. Put teaspoon of pie filler in center of dough. Fold over and grease edges together with a fork. Put on ungreased baking sheet. Bake to lightly brown in quick oven, 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
