1 c. sugar 1 c. butter (2 sticks) 1 1/2 c. brown sugar 3 eggs 3 c. cake flour 1/2 tsp. each: salt, cloves & allspice 1 tsp. soda 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. buttermilk 1 lb. candied cherries, chopped 6 sliced candied pineapple, chopped 2 c. chopped dates 6 c. chopped pecans Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and sift all dry ingredients together. Add to butter, sugar and egg mixture along with milk. Dust fruit and nuts with a little flour and fold into mixture. Spoon onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes. |
