SPAYD HOMEMADE FRENCH TOAST
 

1 stick butter
1 c. light brown sugar
2 tbsp. syrup (maple lite)
1 loaf French bread
5 eggs
1 1/2 c. skim milk
1 tsp. cinnamon

Combine butter, sugar and syrup in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat to melt. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour into an 8x11 inch baking dish.

Slice bread 3/4 inch thick and place in one layer to cover the syrup mixture in the baking dish.

Whisk together eggs, milk and cinnamon and pour over the bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees or until firm and spongy in the center. Serve with more syrup, or fruit jelly or jam. Enjoy!
