CONEY ISLAND SAUCE
 

1/2 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. finely chopped onion
8 oz. can tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. Accent
1/4 c. water
1 clove garlic
1/2 - 3/4 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Brown meat slowly but thoroughly breaking with fork until very fine. Add water, onion, garlic, tomato sauce, chili powder, Accent and salt. Simmer over low heat about 10 minutes or until mixture is well blended. Serve in a bowl to be ladled over hot frankfurters in heated buns. Serves 12.
