1 1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1/2 c. molasses
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. f lour
1 1/2 c. rolled oats
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Cream butter, egg and molasses.
3. Add remaining ingredients, oats last.
4. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
5. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Will puff and then fall when done. Remove just after cookie falls, to retain chewiness.
6. Let stand 1-2 minutes on cookie sheet before removing.
7. Store in tightly covered container.
