Prepare Custard cream Gelato as directed, except omit lemon or orange peel. Stir in 1/4 cup Amaretto into hot cooked mixture. Chill completely. Stir 2 cups crumbled soft macaroons or coarsely crushed Amaretti cookies into chilled mixture. Freeze as directed.
