BUTTERCREAM ICING
 

1 1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter
2 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla or other flavoring
1/4 c. water

Cream Crisco and butter. Add sifted sugar, water and flavoring. Blend on medium speed until well mixed. Beat 7-10 minutes more until creamy and fluffy. May be thinned with water for various uses. This is the frosting I use to decorate cakes.
