any standard pie crust (your own or ready to mix) 1 can almond paste 2 egg whites sugar chopped nuts After preparing pie crust roll out into an 8 or 9 inch circle. Cut into 3 triangular shaped pieces (as you would cut a pie). Spread with a thin layer of almond paste. Brush with beaten egg whites and sprinkle, if desired with chopped nuts. Starting at wide end (not pointed end) roll like you would a crescent roll. Dip in sugar and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. |
