1 stick butter, softened 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. grated orange rind 1 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 c. chopped pecans 1/4 c. chopped dates Pinch of salt 1 tbsp. orange juice Cream butter and sugar. Add other ingredients and mix well. Bake in 8x10 inch greased and floured pan at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. ICING: 1 c. powdered sugar 1 tbsp. soft butter 1 tsp. grated orange rind 1 tbsp. orange juice Mix in small bowl. When bars are cool, ice with above. May be cut into small cookie size or large dessert squares. |
