2 c. shortening 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1 c. white sugar 3 eggs 3 c. all purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp. soda 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder 3 tbsp. water 3 c. quick cooking oats, uncooked 1 (3 1/2 oz.) can coconut 1 tsp. vanilla 20 candy orange slice, finely chopped Cream shortening in large bowl, gradually add sugars, beating. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well. Combine flour, soda and baking powder; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in water, oats, coconut and candy. Chill dough at least 1 hour. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 minutes or until browned. |
