BROILED SHRIMP INDIENNE

An authentic Far Eastern recipe - the touch of cooling mint with the other seasonings provides the interest. 1/4 c. olive oil 1 tsp. ground turmeric 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 tsp. cracked black pepper 1 tsp. Beau Monde Seasoning 1 tsp. chili powder 1 tbsp. red wine vinegar 1 tsp. sweet basil 2 tsp. spearmint

Wash, shell, and devein shrimp. Combine olive oil, turmeric, garlic powder, pepper, Beau Monde, chili powder, and vinegar. Crush sweet basil and spearmint and stir into sauce. Pour over shrimp and marinate for at least 2 or 3 hours at room temperature. Broil or grill for 10 to 15 minutes, or until shrimp are done, basting 2 or 3 times with sauce. Makes 2 or 3 servings.

This is an elegant appetizer to pass around on a lettuce covered tray.
