1 1/2 lbs ground beef 1 small onion, chopped 1 large can tomato puree 1 1/2 cans creamed corn 1/2 lb large elbow macaroni 1 can large pitted black olives (whole) grated cheddar cheese garlic salt This has been my favorite "comfort food" dish since I was a kid. It's my mom's recipe she's been making since the 1960's. Please enjoy! It's wonderful. Preheat oven to 350°F. Boil water for macaroni, once boiling, add macaroni. Drain and set aside. Brown ground beef with chopped onion and season lightly with garlic salt. Drain and set aside. In a greased, large, deep casserole dish, make layers of the ingredients in this order: Macaroni Beef Creamed corn Tomato puree Olives Cheese Make 2 to 3 layers. Bake uncovered for 30-45 minutes or until top layer of cheese is lightly browned and bubbly. Serve with garlic bread and a salad. I also like to lightly sprinkle a little more garlic salt on mine.
