1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
3 tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. mayonnaise (salad dressing)
1 c. cold water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg

Mix by hand in large bowl, pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch cake pan and place in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 stick of soft butter
2 or 3 tbsp. hot coffee (black)

Mix thoroughly and put on cake as soon as it is cool.
