Mix: 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. salt, nutmeg 3/4 c. salad oil
Set aside 1 cup of this mixture for topping. Add 2 cups chopped pears (fresh or canned) to main mixture. Then add: 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. each baking soda & baking powder
Spread in greased sheet pan. Sprinkle with topping: 1/2 tsp. ground ginger 1 c. chopped pecans
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serves: 10 to 12.
