GRAPE - SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE
 

1 1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter (4 oz.) or butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 lg. egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel
3/4 c. sour cream
2 c. seedless grapes

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Resift flour with baking powder, soda and salt. Cream butter with sugar, add egg, vanilla and lemon peel and beat well. Blend in flour mixture alternately with sour cream, making a moderately stiff dough.

Spread half dough mixture in well-greased 8 inch spring-form pan. Sprinkle with half the grapes and half streusel. Repeat layers. Bake about 1 hour, until pick inserted near center comes out clean. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before removing sides of pan.

STREUSEL:

1/3 c. packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

Combine and blend to fine crumbs.
