BANANA POUND CAKE
 

1 box light brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
5 lg. eggs
3 c. cake flour
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. chopped pecans
2 lg. bananas

Cream sugars, shortening, and butter. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift dry ingredients, add and cream well. Fold in mashed bananas, add milk and vanilla. Add 1 cup of nuts to the batter. Put remaining cup of nuts on top of cake batter before baking, pressing down slightly. Bake in greased and floured tube pan in 325 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours.
