2 c. cake flour 1 1/4 c. sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. Crisco 3/4 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla (put vanilla in milk) 3 egg whites Beat egg whites stiff and put in refrigerator. Mix other ingredients and beat until creamy with electric beater. Fold in egg whites. Makes a very nice layer cake if baked in 7"x11" pan. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, about 25 minutes for layers, 35 minutes in 7"x11" pan. |
