1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1/2 c. oil
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla Sift together dry ingredients into ungreased 8 or 9-inch square pan. Pour wet ingredients into pan and stir well with fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Makes 1 cake. WACKY FROSTING: 1 c. milk
5 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla In saucepan, combine milk and flour, stirring constantly over low heat until mixture thickens. Cool. Cream butter, sugar, salt and vanilla. Add to cooled flour mixture (paste) and beat until fluffy, approximately 7 minutes with electric mixer. Keep in refrigerator. Frosts 2 layers. |
