In a saucepan bring to a boil: 1 c. water 2 sticks butter

Set aside.

In mixing bowl combine: 2 c. sugar 2 beaten eggs 1/2 c. buttermilk 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. soda

Stir up good. Add the chocolate mixture and stir up good. Pour in 18x12x1 greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

While cake is baking take the same saucepan and melt on low heat:

1 stick butter
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
6 tbsp. milk

Remove from heat immediately and add 4 cups powdered sugar and pour on cake. Let cake cool a little. Add nuts to cake and icing if you want.
