2 c. blueberries 3 tbsp. butter Juice of 1/2 lemon 1 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk 1 tbsp. cornstarch 1 c. boiling water Wash berries and pour into iron skillet or 8 x 8 inch cake pan. Sprinkle with lemon. Cream butter and 3/4 cup sugar; add flour, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt and milk. Spread this batter over berries. Combine 1 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt and cornstarch. Sprinkle over batter. Pour boiling water over all. Bake 1 hour at 375 degrees. |
