1 stick butter

1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
1 c. milk
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream together in a large mixing bowl, butter, butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each egg. Then add flour alternately with milk and baking powder, ending with flour. Beat about 8 minutes.

Put into a cold oven and turn oven to 325 degrees. After 1 hour and 15 minutes check for doneness. Bake another 10 to 15 minutes if needed.
