GREEN BEANS WITH ALMONDS
 

2 1/2 lbs. green beans
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 lb. bacon, crumbled
1 tsp. MSG (opt.)
1/4 c. sliced almonds
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Snap off tough end and remove strings from beans. Cut in halves and cook, covered in 1" boiling water for 20 minutes or until tender. Drain. Melt butter in saucepan, add bacon, almonds, garlic powder and salt. Pour over green beans, toss and serve at once.
