1 3/4 lbs. ham hock 2 qts. water 2 bunches (about 10 lbs.) turnip greens with roots 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. sugar (optional) Wash ham hocks and place in an 8 quart Dutch oven; add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 30 to 45 minutes or until greens and roots are tender. Yield: 8 to 12 servings. |
