SLICED APPLES AND OVEN BAKED BEANS

1 (1 lb. 2 oz.) can or jar brick oven baked beans
4 slices leftover baked ham (opt.)
1 (1 lb. 4 oz.) can sliced apples canned with sugar or apple pie filling
1/2 c. dark brown sugar, well packed
1/4 c. pure apple cider vinegar
1 tsp. prepared mustard

Place brick oven baked beans in a greased casserole. Top with leftover ham slices. Combine the canned sliced apples, and their syrup, brown sugar, vinegar and prepared mustard in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes or until apples are tender yet firm. With a slotted spoon, lift out apples and place on top of the beans and ham. Boil down the remaining syrup until thick. Pour over the apples. Bake in a moderate oven, 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
