MEXICAN BEEF PIE
 

Pastry for two 9 inch pie crusts
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 (8 oz.) can Spanish style tomato sauce
1/2 c. sliced stuffed olives
1/2 c. Cheddar cheese

Line 9 inch pie plate with pastry. Heat oil in skillet, saute onions and green pepper 5 minutes. Add beef, cook until browned, stirring frequently. Add seasonings and tomato sauce, cook over low heat 15 minutes. Let cool, add olives, turn mixture into pastry shell. Top with cheese.

Take second pastry, roll out and cut into strips. Arrange over meat in lattice pattern. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven 35-40 minutes, until pastry is browned. Serves 5-6.
