2 lbs. ground beef chuck 1 tbsp. oil 2 med. onions, chopped 1 green pepper, diced 1 lb. can tomatoes 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/2 c. ketchup 1 tbsp. chili powder 2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 2 (1 lb.) cans red kidney beans, partially drained Brown ground beef in oil. Add onions and green pepper and brown lightly. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, ketchup, chili powder, salt and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add kidney beans and simmer an additional 15 minutes. Serves 10 to 12. |
