BEEF STEW WITH CORN BREAD TOPPING
 

1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. flour
3/4 lb. beef, cut in 1 inch cubes
1 tbsp. fat
1 med. onion, chopped
3 potatoes, diced
1 turnip, diced
1 stalk celery, diced
1 recipe corn bread batter

Mix salt and flour. Dredge beef with seasoned flour. Brown in fat in skillet. Cover with water. Simmer until beef is tender. Add vegetables. Cook until vegetables are almost tender. Place in a greased baking dish. Cover with corn bread batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
