1/4 c. chopped green pepper 1 c. chopped celery 3 tbsp. butter or bacon drippings 1 lb. shrimp 1/2 lb. fillet fish 1/2 lb. ground beef or chicken or leftover pork 1 c. chopped onion 1/4 c. mushrooms 1 c. canned tomatoes 1 lb. okra 1/4 tsp. oregano 1/4 tsp. rosemary 1/4 tsp. basil 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1 c. whole grain canned corn Saute all ingredients, except tomatoes, and okra in butter or fat until tender. Add tomatoes and cook over rapid flame. Add okras, cut in bite-size slices. Cook 3 minutes over a high flame. Do not over cook. Serve hot. |
