1 1/2 lbs. raw shrimp 3/4 c. olive oil 1 med. onion, grated 2 tbsp. lemon juice 1 clove garlic, finely chopped 1/8 tsp. each: oregano, basil and ground cloves 1/2 tsp. celery seed 1/2 tsp. chili powder 1/2 tsp. salt Shell and clean the shrimp, leaving the tail on. Combine the remaining ingredients with shrimp and let stand at least 2 hours. Place on a grill over hot coals; broil 5 to 8 minutes, basting occasionally with the marinade. Serve with a favorite barbecue sauce. Fairly large shrimp work best. |
