LINGUINI WITH RED CLAM SAUCE
 

4 tbsp. olive oil
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
2 cans minced clams
1 sm. onion, chopped
2 lg. cans stewed tomatoes
1 lb. linguini
1/2 c. red wine
Spices to include garlic powder, basil, oregano, parsley, crushed red pepper
1/4 c. slivered almonds

Saute garlic and onion in olive oil, add can tomatoes and wine, then add spices. I never measure, just add to taste. I am sure I put in at least a teaspoon of each if not more. Stir well and simmer for at least 30 minutes, more is preferred. Cook linguini in boiling salted water. Drain and mix sauce with half of the almonds. Serve linguini with almonds sprinkled on top.
