GRAPENUT PUDDING
 

1/2 c. grapenut cereal
2 1/2 c. warm milk
3 eggs
1/3 - 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Grated nutmeg, optional

Soak cereal in warm milk for 10 minutes. Beat eggs with fork and add sugar to taste. Add salt, vanilla and cereal-milk mixture. Spoon into a buttered 5 cup casserole. Sprinkle top with nutmeg.

Place casserole into a pan half filled with water. Stir pudding twice during the first twenty minutes of baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve warm or chilled.
