POPPY SEED ROLLS
 

2 cakes yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
1 c. scalded milk
1/2 c. butter
3 whole eggs
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
4 1/2-5 c. flour

First dissolve 2 cakes yeast in 1 tablespoon sugar and allow to stand while mixing dough. Place large bowl on platform and put into it the scalded milk, butter and eggs. Turn on mixer and beat slowly. Then add salt, sugar and 2 cups of flour. Mix until well mixed, about 2 minutes.

Add yeast which was prepared at beginning and add 2-3 cups more flour. Turn on mixer and mix until ready to form into rolls. Place in warm place and allow to stand until double in size. Place bowl back on mixer and mix down, then cut into 2 equal parts.

Roll out each part round the shape of a pie and cut in 12 pie-shaped pieces. roll each piece starting from wide end. Brush over with condensed milk and sprinkle with poppy seed. Let rise until double in bulk and bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
