HOMEMADE BREAD
 

2 qts. white or wheat flour
1/4 c. white sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. salt
1/3 c. cooking oil
3/4 cake yeast dissolved in 1 c. warm water

Measure flour in large mixing bowl or pan. Add sugar, salt and cooking oil. After dissolving yeast in warm water. Pour a little at a time in flour mixture and mix with your hands. Add more warm water (if necessary) until all the flour is mixed completely. Turn dough into floured table top and knead until no longer sticky. Clean flour from the mixing bowl and grease bowl well with oil or solid shortening. Place kneaded dough in greased bowl and grease the top. Cover and let raise in warm place until doubled in size. Punch down and make rolls. Place in greased baking pan, cover and let raise until doubled in size again. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown, approximately 30 minutes.
