2 c. flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt In bowl, mix above ingredients. Add 1/2 cup shortening with pastry blender, until fine like cornmeal. Beat 1 egg, add 2/3 cup milk. Add slowly to flour mixture. Stir to make a stiff dough. Mix only until four is all wet. Knead 5 times. Roll to 1/2 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutter. Bake on sheets, 10-15 minutes at 450 degrees. |
