2 (1 lb.) bags of stuffing mix (or 1 loaf toasted bread, crumbled) 1 lb. ground sausage 1/2 c. celery, cut into cubes 1/4 c. green pepper, cut into cubes 1/4 c. onion 1 tsp. sage 1 tsp. poultry seasoning 1/2 tsp. black pepper 1 stick butter NOTE: If stuffing a turkey add cooked giblets (cut into small pieces) also. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl blend stuffing mix, sausage, celery, green pepper, onion, sage, poultry seasoning and pepper. Over medium heat melt butter and pour over above ingredients and mix together. Place stuffing mixture in a 13x9 baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. When done remove from oven and let stand for 5 minutes. Serves 8 to 10 people. |
